Boston (dpa) – National basketball player Daniel Theis is firmly assuming it will be used at the European Championships in Cologne and Berlin.
The 30-year-old NBA pro of the Boston Celtics told Spox this. “From now on: Yes! I am very interested in the European Championship at home. If everyone is there we have a very, very good team. I hope I have a long post-season ahead of me now, but there should be enough time to recover afterwards and prepare for the tournament,” said Theis. The tournament will take place from the 2nd to the 19th of September.
He recently met coach Gordon Herbert in San Francisco. “It was a really good conversation, I already knew him in Frankfurt. We hope to have all the lads on board and achieve something in the European Championship,” said Theis. In the playoffs, his Celtics face the Brooklyn Nets around two stars Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving. “We believe in ourselves and it doesn’t matter who we play against. We don’t have to avoid anyone,” Theis said confidently.
