Phoenix (AP) – Title favorite Phoenix Suns is struggling with much bigger problems than expected in the first round of the NBA’s North American Professional Basketball League playoffs.
Arizona’s main round winner is threatened with the loss of playmaker Devin Booker, who was injured in the 114:125 loss in the second game. The 25-year-old suffered a minor hamstring strain and is expected to miss games three and four with the New Orleans Pelicans, according to ESPN.
The Suns went into the playoffs as clear title favorites but are now under pressure 1-1 in the best-of-seven first-round series. Booker is considered the most important player on the team alongside veteran playmaker Chris Paul. Last year, Phoenix were in the finals and lost 4-2 to the Milwaukee Bucks after a 2-0 lead.
