NBA News: LeBron James sets NBA scoring record | NBA news

LeBron James is the most prolific shooter in NBA history, scoring more points in the main round and playoffs than any other professional basketball player.

In the Los Angeles Lakers’ 115:117 loss to the Golden State Warriors Saturday night (local time), James passed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, who scored 44,149 career points. James is now at 44,157. In the most prestigious category, scored in the main round, Abdul-Jabbar, active from 1969 to 1989, still leads by 1861 points.

Thompson shines on LeBron’s record

“This is really cool. It’s amazing,” Lakers coach Frank Vogel said before the game. “Everything he’s done during his career is just amazing. That’s why I think he’s the greatest that has ever played.”

San Francisco’s top pitcher was Klay Thompson, who scored 33 points and therefore had more points than he did nearly three years ago. Thompson had completely missed the last two seasons with the Warriors with injuries. Now he’s ensured the Warriors don’t let the lead Phoenix Suns gap widen even further. The Western Conference number one won 132-105 against the Orlando Magic in their 46th win of the season. Franz Wagner scored twelve points for the Magic.

Doncic Can’t Prevent Mavs From Defeating

Despite a significantly improved performance, the loss was particularly unnerving for the Lakers as city rivals Los Angeles Clippers won the away game at the Dallas Mavericks and thus secured an important victory in the fight for playoff spots. At 99:97 in Dallas, Luka Doncic, who once again played exceptionally, couldn’t stop the Clippers. The Slovenian had 45 points, 15 rebounds and eight assists but could not avoid his 24th loss of the season against his Western Conference rivals.

Franz Wagner suffered a clear defeat with the Orlando Magic. The Florida team had to admit defeat to the league leader Phoenix Suns with 105:132. Rookie Wagner had 12 points and the Magic are second in the Eastern Conference. Franz Wagner’s older brother Moritz was absent again due to a bruised rib.
