The NBA playoffs are coming! The last play-in games have been played. But how do play-ins really work and which teams won?
In Corona’s 2019/2020 season, a play-in tournament was played in the NBA for the first time. Since this season, play-ins have been an integral part of the season. While the top six teams from each conference qualify for the playoffs, places seven through ten vie for the bottom two playoff spots in each conference.
The NBA Play-In Mode
In the first round of the play-ins, place seven plays against place eight. The winner of this game immediately buys their playoff ticket. A day later, number nine meets number ten. The winner of this match plays against the loser of the first game (seven against eight). In this final play-in game, the eighth and final playoff participant for each conference is determined.
Play-in results
Brooklyn and Minnesota got their ticket to the playoffs with their wins. Cleveland and the Clippers had to compete against Atlanta and New Orleans. The Hawks won in the Eastern Conference. In the west, the New Orleans Pelicans entered the playoffs.
