Maybe you’ve never heard of “Core”. Or do you think it only refers to the area of the body where the abs are located.
But if you’re interested in staying in shape or playing sports, this word should be fundamental in your workout routine.
If you spend many hours a day in front of the computer or your back hurts frequently, training these muscles will also help.
“Core” is an English word meaning “centre” or “nucleus”.

Why those muscles?
You get most of your body’s strength from this muscle group: you use it to kick a ball, lift a heavy object, or stand up.

“When the condition of these muscles is bad, stability is poor and the risk of injury increases, especially in the lower back,” explains Ángel Merchan, director of the Home Wellness fitness center in Madrid, Spain.

“The best way to train the small, deep back muscles is with exercises like yoga or Pilates,” explains Merchán.
